Meet Dr. Treat, Orthopedic Specialist
Christopher Treat, D.O., is an Oklahoma native and a fellowship-trained orthopedic physician in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He focuses on hand and upper extremity care for adult and pediatric patients.
Dr. Treat evaluates and treats disorders of the hand, wrist, forearm, elbow, and shoulder. He specializes in carpal tunnel release, shoulder replacement, and microvascular reconstruction. Conditions treated include trauma, arthritis, sports injuries, carpal tunnel syndrome, fractures, and cysts. He also treats peripheral nerve and vascular disorders.
Dr. Treat’s family was influential in his career choice. “I grew up in a medical family,” he explains. “I have always enjoyed the sciences and helping others.” During his third year of medical school, he was introduced to orthopedics. “It was love at first sight. Now, I couldn’t imagine doing anything else. Having the opportunity to help others overcome their orthopedic issues is a dream come true.”
Dr. Treat earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, Oklahoma in 2007. He received a medical degree at the Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Tulsa in 2011. He completed an orthopedic surgery residency at Largo Medical Center in Largo, Florida in 2017. In 2018, he completed a shoulder and elbow fellowship at the Cleveland Shoulder Institute in Beachwood, Ohio. He completed a hand and upper extremity fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 2019.
His personal interests include music, sports, fishing, and spending time with his family.
